Mihkel Kivimäe on lõpetanud Tallinna Polütehnikumi arvutid ja arvutivõrgud erialal ning lisaks sellele sooritanud EUCIP haldus mooduli eksami. Lisaks sellele on lõpetanud ka Tallinna Tehnikakõrgkooli tehnomaterjalid ja turunduse eriala. Üldine tööstaaž on pikk ja lai, kuid seni põnevamateks väljakutseteks arvab ta endiselt olevat Innovaatik OÜ ettevõttes tehtud tarkvaraarendus.
